Paperback, Near Fine condition, second impression with corrections, pp 284, b&w illustrations, glossary. The author of the book was born at Pitbeadlie, Marykirk on the 11th September, 1911 and moved around as his father worked on various farms, including Thornyhill, Fettercairn; Burn Home Farm, Edzell; Lower Powburn, Fordoun; Gossesslie and Cauldcots, Fettercairn. He then bothied at Bogmuir and Tilltoghills, Fettercairn; Ferniebrae and Easttown of Glenbervie, Stonehaven; Drumyocher and Cushnie, Fordoun and Hallhill, Kinneff. He then cottard at Broombank, Drumlithie; Chapelton, Dellevaird; Little Barras, Stonehaven; Johnston Mains and Pitnamoon Laurencekirk, and Upper Coullie, Fordoun. He was self employed after that as a market gardener at Tillygrain, Gourdon, for six years before moving north to Aberdeenshire in 1951.S6.
