McConnochie highlights the book with many tales and legends of both Lochnagar and the surrounding glens as well as describing the many ways of reaching the summit itself. Other anecdotes relate to illicit whisky distillation and smuggling as well as stories about Glen Muick, Ballater, Braemar and Loch Callater.
