Illustrated oblong card covers, New.
That's Balgownie Crescent under construction sometime between 1937 and 1939 on the cover photo. You'll be glad to know the actual Bridge of Don is also featured in this illustrated history of the district just to the north of, and now subsumed by, Aberdeen. Like many of the other areas on the fringes of the city a hundred years ago, Bridge of Don was that weird hybrid of tram destination from town and still sufficiently rural to host the summer camp for the city's ailing children, for salmon fishers to work the river and to have brick and tile works complete with little railway. It also had several large houses including Denmore and Scotstown which both became derelict and are now just a memory. The book includes all these plus trams, the barracks, golf clubs and more.
